HUBBALLI: The Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) unveiled a surplus budget of ₹7.7 crore for the financial year 2026-27 in Hubballi on Monday. The budget estimates a revenue of approximately ₹1,603.2 crore against an expenditure of ₹1,594.4 crore, positioning it higher than other corporations in the state, except those in Bengaluru. DHARWAD: The Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) is taking action against violations of building regulations related to parking in commercial and residential structures across the twin cities. During a general body meeting on Friday, Mayor Jyothi Patil emphasized the urgency of addressing these issues to accommodate Hubballi and Dharwad’s future growth. The Corporation will undertake a review of completion certificates (CC) issued to commercial and residential developments in the last five years. HUBBALLI: Homes constructed under the Smart City initiative for families displaced by the Vani Vilas Circle Road expansion in Hubballi have not yet been handed over by the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC). Built in 2022 at the Kallur layout, these houses remain unoccupied, despite being allotted in September. Officials have indicated that delays are due to unfinished electrical work, sanitation issues, and lack of essential facilities, leaving beneficiaries awaiting possession.
