NEW DELHI: The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) conducted inspections at construction and demolition (C&D) sites and industrial units in the National Capital Region (NCR) from June 14 to June 30, identifying 62 violations of pollution control regulations, officials announced on Monday.
The CAQM Enforcement Task Force (ETF) reviewed reports from 173 inspections and enforcement actions during their 134th meeting on Monday.
Inspection teams conducted 15 inspections at C&D sites, 91 in industrial areas, and 67 related to diesel generator sets. A total of 62 violations were reported: seven from C&D sites, 31 from industrial sectors, and 24 concerning diesel generators.
An official stated, “The ETF also assessed actions taken following the 133rd meeting, confirming that all actionable cases involving industrial and construction sectors, as well as diesel generators, have been addressed by the relevant agencies.”
Seven resumption orders were issued after compliance verification for C&D sites. Specifically, two orders were issued in Uttar Pradesh and five in Haryana.
During the meeting, CAQM emphasized the importance of robust enforcement, improved coordination among agencies, and strict compliance with environmental standards to mitigate air pollution across the NCR.
