GURUGRAM: On Saturday, the extensive enforcement initiative to seal illegal constructions and restore rightful use of public spaces continued into its third day in DLF Phase-3. Teams sealed 181 rooms in four paying guest (PG) buildings, along with 29 commercial establishments operating unlawfully within residential properties.
This operation was carried out by the district town planning (enforcement) department, following directives from the Punjab and Haryana High Court. The police and district administration provided support throughout the enforcement activities in S Block and neighboring areas of DLF Phase 3.
The campaign aims to return residential buildings to their original plans and eliminate commercial activities that violate zoning laws. This includes the removal of unauthorized structures in designated parking areas, such as offices, kitchens, restaurants, servant quarters, and additional rooms.
At S-27/3, a five-story PG facility known as ‘Hello World Co-Living’ was fully sealed—locking all 38 rooms while also demolishing an office, three rooms, and a servant quarter located in the stilt area. Similarly, at S-28/4, 54 rooms were sealed across various floors of another five-story building. Enforcement teams proceeded to remove illegally built sheds and dismantle gates and encroachments extending beyond property boundaries.
On Siris Road, enforcement teams sealed 44 rooms at plot 74, which included six in the basement and 38 on upper levels. At plot 72 on the same road, 45 rooms were sealed, five of which were located in the stilt area. Another 44 rooms were sealed at Siris Road 70, with a kitchen, restaurant, and office operating from the stilt floor also demolished.
Along S-30 lane, 29 commercial units functioning illegally within residential premises were sealed; these included salons, workshops, grocery stores, property dealers, pan shops, eateries, and juice outlets. Moreover, encroachments in S-54 lane were addressed, leading to the removal of ramps, staircases, and other unauthorized constructions. Similar actions were taken to clear illegal ramps, lawns, diesel generators, extended boundary walls, and oversized gates at S-28/2, S-28/3, and S-28/4.
In the initial three days of this operation, over 25 buildings have been targeted. Notably, on Thursday, teams sealed 262 rooms across eight significant PG buildings, including a contentious property with 128 rooms occupying a 1,000-square-yard plot.
Final restoration orders were issued on June 12 and 13 for properties not subject to any stay orders, directing owners to voluntarily rectify deviations from approved building plans. This enforcement drive has now expanded across DLF phases 1 to 5, beginning with Phase 3.
DTP (enforcement) Amit Madholia stated that the operation will persist until full compliance with court mandates is achieved, warning that illegal constructions, encroachments in stilt parking areas, and unauthorized commercial activities on residential properties will face rigorous action.
