CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) recently conducted an interactive session with the Builders Welfare Association in Zirakpur, aimed at enhancing awareness about environmental compliance and the importance of adhering to Environmental Clearance (EC) conditions during construction. Sambhajinagar to Tax Drain-Top Buildings, Crackdown on Sewage

CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAJINAGAR: Buildings erected over major drains and nullahs, despite having official clearance, will be subjected to higher property taxes as the municipal corporation aims to tackle persistent monsoon flooding and obstacles in desilting efforts. The Shiv Sena (UBT) Bhavan is among the structures that may be affected. Municipal Commissioner Amol Yedage made this decision following an inspection of critical drainage areas at Kabadipura, Barudgar nala, Sambhaji Peth, and Roplekar Chowk, where he discovered several large constructions approved by the civic body built over nullahs.
