PUNE: Residents have largely ignored the civic body’s promises of granting tenancy rights via certificates, with many reluctant to vacate crumbling wadas and properties in the city. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has issued notices to owners and occupants of 36 properties, ordering them to vacate before the rainy season. About ten years ago, the PMC began a unique initiative to issue tenancy certificates to tenants, aiming to mitigate legal disputes between property owners and occupants. Pune Links Building Permits to Land Acquisition for Road Widening

PUNE: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has implemented new regulations aimed at eliminating persistent delays in infrastructure projects by tying building permits to land acquisition for road widening. Under the updated guidelines, developers are required to submit a formal proposal to transfer any land that may be impacted by upcoming road expansions within 15 days of requesting building approval. Importantly, the land must be physically conveyed to the PMC before the construction reaches the plinth level — the base of the structure.
