NOIDA: Residents’ Welfare Associations (RWAs) recently met with Noida Authority officials concerning overdue repair works for roads, drains, sewers, parks, as well as water and power supply. The general secretary of the RWA for Sector 51, covering blocks C to F, also requested the CEO to put a stop to various commercial activities such as paying guest accommodations, hotels, guest houses, banquet halls, offices, nursing homes, and schools operating from rented properties.
Sanjeev Kumar, the RWA general secretary, expressed concern that the increase in commercial activities like hotels and guest houses poses a security risk. With numerous establishments emerging, it has become challenging for security personnel at the sector entrances to monitor visitors effectively.
A delegation from the Federation of Noida Residents Welfare Associations met senior Authority officials, including general managers AK Arora and RP Singh, as well as horticulture director Anand Mohan Singh, at the federation office in Sector 52. The federation’s secretary general, KK Jain, highlighted the urgent need for tangible solutions to the community’s pressing issues.
In a separate meeting, members of the District Development Residents Welfare Association discussed key concerns with Noida Authority CEO Krishna Karunesh. They submitted a 22-point memorandum that detailed issues such as the urgent repair of damaged roads, cleaning of drains, ensuring safe drinking water, stopping unauthorized commercial activities in residential sectors, introducing public bus services, establishing a Grievance and Vigilance Cell, relocating overhead power lines, and enhancing road engineering.
Additional points raised included converting leasehold properties to freehold, emphasizing fire safety in community halls, installing display boards for dog regulations, and ensuring drinking water availability in parks.
Both meetings demonstrated the Noida Authority’s commitment to addressing community concerns, with assurances that pending works, including road repairs, will commence this month.
