Land Sharks Target Noida Villages; Authority Issues Alert

NOIDA: The Noida Authority has issued a public notice alerting residents to the issue of illegal constructions and encroachments on its designated land in Salarpur, Bhangel, and Hajipur villages. Authorities indicated that numerous plots in these areas have been unlawfully occupied, leading to demolition and sealing operations at those locations. Residents are urged not to invest in such properties.

“The public is warned that in Salarpur, Bhangel, and Hajipur, individuals including land mafias and encroachers are engaging in unauthorized constructions on notified land. The Noida Authority has consistently acted to demolish and seal these illegal structures and has issued notices to those responsible for their removal. Reports have also been filed with local police stations for further action,” read the Authority’s statement.

Several encroached plots have been pinpointed. In Salarpur village, the affected areas include plot numbers 700-711, 723, 724, 728-735, and 745-752, among others. In Bhangel village, the encroachments affect plots 176, 178, 217, 221, 223, 225, 226, 247, 250, and 251, among others. In Hajipur village, plot number 412 has also been identified.

“The Noida Authority has not authorized any building plans for the aforementioned khasra/plot numbers. Any construction here is entirely unauthorized,” stated Noida CEO Krishna Karunesh.

Karunesh advised the public to gather all necessary information from the Authority before purchasing or engaging in land transactions related to these identified plots to avoid financial pitfalls.

The rapid urbanization and escalating land prices have led to widespread encroachments, especially as monitoring of vacant acquired land has been inadequate, making these areas susceptible to unauthorized developments and illegal dealings. Many residents unable to afford urban properties are instead purchasing plots from private colonizers in village areas, often leading to significant financial losses once they discover the land is encroached.

Those who seek affordable housing in urban areas tend to acquire plots from private developers in villages but frequently face financial setbacks upon realizing their investments are on encroached land.
