JAIPUR: On Saturday, the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) demolished two illegal colonies occupying nearly six bighas of private agricultural land in Kanota to prevent unauthorized urbanization early on.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Anand Sharma from the JDA enforcement wing reported that one of the colonies was being developed on about two bighas in Kanota village, near Anand College on Dudhawala Road. “Developers reportedly leveled the land and constructed soil-gravel roads and other basic infrastructure without JDA approval or mandatory land-use conversion. Acting on reliable information, our enforcement team, supported by Zone-24’s revenue and technical staff, used JCB machines and laborers to dismantle the roads and other illegal developments, halting any further progress on the colony or sale of plots,” stated Sharma.
Sharma further explained that the second operation targeted another illegal colony covering around four bighas of private agricultural land in the same region. “Soil-gravel roads and an unauthorized layout had been created without JDA approval or land-use conversion, prompting the JDA team to demolish these illegal constructions using machinery and labor,” he added.
The costs incurred from both demolition actions will be recouped from those responsible in accordance with established regulations.
