GURUGRAM: A balcony section collapsed at a luxury apartment complex in Sector 37D on a rainy Thursday morning, according to police reports. Fortunately, there were no immediate injuries reported.
The incident took place in Tower E of the Imperia Esfera Phase-2 complex, where residents heard a loud noise as part of the first-floor balcony fell.
A resident noted that although people were walking underneath the balcony at the time, no one was struck by the debris, and there were no reported injuries.
Authorities arrived promptly and cordoned off the area. An investigation has been initiated, and inspections are underway.
This incident has raised concerns among residents, who believe it reflects ongoing negligence from the builder. Just last month, they protested about the poor condition of essential amenities.
Residents are urging the administration to conduct a “structural audit” of the entire complex by an independent, reputable third-party agency. They argue that the safety of the towers cannot be assured until the structural integrity is confirmed.
“This alarming incident could have resulted in serious injuries. While the flat was unoccupied, the falling debris damaged a supporting pillar, jeopardizing the entire tower’s safety. We plan to file a police complaint and request a DTP department investigation,” stated Hemant Kumar, RWA president of the society.
