PATNA: Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has directed officials to design and develop 11 large industrial parks throughout Bihar, including food parks in all 38 districts, with the goal of boosting industrial expansion and increasing job opportunities. He emphasized the importance of ensuring sufficient land availability for industrial development and proposed creating a land bank of 50,000 acres to facilitate upcoming projects and meet investor needs.
These instructions were given during a high-level review meeting of the industries department held at Sankalp Sabhagar in Lok Sevak Awas. Samrat stated that Bihar should become an attractive destination for investors, asserting that the state has ample resources. He reiterated that creating a conducive environment for industrial growth is the top priority for the state government.
He called for enhanced engagement with industrialists, industry organizations, and entrepreneurs, stressing the importance of addressing their concerns swiftly. He urged for speedy grievance redressal mechanisms to prevent operational challenges from hindering investment and project progress.
To position Bihar among the top states in ‘Ease of Doing Business,’ Samrat instructed officials to streamline and enhance transparency in procedures. He stated that all industry-related permissions and services should be provided promptly to bolster investor confidence.
Samrat pointed out the significant potential in sectors such as food processing, textiles, pharmaceuticals, and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). He urged officials to accelerate initiatives in these areas, including the establishment of a Textile Industrial Centre and strengthening the startup ecosystem to create new opportunities for youth. He emphasized the urgency of resolving industrial issues.
On land acquisition, he called for expedited processes in collaboration with relevant departments and encouraged District Magistrates to engage with local communities to ensure fair compensation for landowners. He also instructed that benefits for new industrial units be disbursed timely.
Industries Secretary Kundan Kumar provided updates on ongoing initiatives and plans aimed at enhancing industrial development, attracting investment, and generating employment opportunities.
