LUCKNOW: The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is set to establish new commercial and residential plots as part of the Basantkunj scheme, targeting unplanned and vacant land located near green belts and residential zones.
During an inspection of the Basantkunj project, Vice-chairman Prathmesh Kumar emphasized the need to accelerate ongoing development and beautification efforts.
When examining Sector-I near Mango Park, authorities discovered illegal constructions on land (khasra number 591) in violation of enforcement regulations. The VC has ordered the suspension of the assistant engineer responsible for this oversight.
Moreover, two supervisors, Jagrup Yadav and Suraj Kumar, were suspended for their negligence and absence during the inspection of Zone-7 development activities.
Kumar also assessed the Rashtra Prerna Sthal and found the progress on a flood pumping station to be unsatisfactory, resulting in a penalty of ₹5 lakh imposed on the private contractor, Pumps and Power Project Pvt, for the delay.
Further inspections of Sectors J, K, I, and O revealed that several plots adjacent to green zones remain unplanned. The VC has instructed that these areas be organized for new residential and commercial developments, with a survey of Sector-A to conclude within two weeks.
Additionally, the ongoing development and beautification at Joggers Park on Hardoi Road, Ayurveda Park, and Mango Park have been reviewed. officials were tasked with completing pending horticulture and repair work, especially on roads damaged during the monsoon.
An enforcement campaign will be launched across the Basantkunj project to identify unauthorized constructions and take action against buildings erected without approved plans.
