Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Okays Land Transfer for Agra Metro Expansion

LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has approved the allocation of land for metro stations and viaduct sections under Corridor-II of the Agra Metro Rail Project, officials announced on Monday.

This initiative, aimed at enhancing the Agra Cantt-Kalindi Vihar metro corridor, was confirmed during a Cabinet meeting held at Lok Bhavan.

State Higher Education Minister and Agra South MLA, Yogendra Upadhyay praised this decision as a significant benefit for Agra’s residents.

He pointed out that the new metro corridor would alleviate traffic congestion, reduce travel time, and encourage environmental sustainability. He emphasized that the Adityanath administration is consistently working to furnish Agra with top-notch urban infrastructure.

According to Upadhyay, the Agra Metro project is set to modernize the city’s transportation system, offering both tourists and residents quicker, safer, and more convenient travel options.

An official statement confirmed that 550 square meters of unused land at the Regional Employment Office in Mauja Chak Avval, currently functioning as a park, will be transferred to the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited for the construction of metro stations and viaducts.

This land will be allotted at no cost, with concessions applicable on the circle rate, under specified terms and conditions.
