LUCKNOW: Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, the state’s industrial development minister, urged officials on Tuesday to take stringent measures against builders who default on their obligations and expedite the resolution of issues between builders and buyers in Noida. He also raised concerns regarding alleged irregularities in project allocations and civic contracts.
During a review of various projects under the Noida Industrial Development Authority, Nandi emphasized the need to resolve stalled housing projects and pending flat registrations promptly. Officials informed him that 57 projects were now governed by the policy framework established by the Amitabh Kant Committee, with 36 builders having deposited the required 25%, while six builders had yet to make any payments.
Nandi expressed empathy for homebuyers’ struggles, noting that many families remain in rented homes despite investing their savings in flats. He instructed authorities to take action against builders such as Sunshine Infra, Mahagun, Antariksh Developers, and Perfect Asotech.
Additonally, the minister requested a report on allotments made through single bids and questioned why a particular firm has consistently maintained contracts for water supply and toilet maintenance over the years. He mandated an investigation into previous tenders, stating that companies found guilty of irregularities should face blacklisting.
Nandi further directed officials to eliminate a backlog of 5% plot allotments within three months and to ramp up efforts against illegal encroachments and unauthorized constructions in Noida. He also requested enhancements in sanitation, greenery, and beautification across all 168 sectors of the city.
