CHENNAI: Sundaram Home Finance has announced its intention to raise over Rs 6,000 crore to enhance its growth in the current financial year. The funding will be achieved through various means including refinancing from NHB, bank loans, debentures, and fixed deposits, as stated by an official.

Sundaram Home Finance reported a 26% increase in net profit for the January-March 2025 quarter, reaching Rs 71.57 crore compared to Rs 56.80 crore in the same quarter of the previous financial year.

Disbursements in the reviewed quarter amounted to Rs 1,929 crore, up from Rs 1,469 crore in the previous year’s corresponding quarter.

Assets Under Management rose to Rs 17,470 crore for the financial year ending March 31, 2025, up from Rs 13,812 crore the year prior.

The company’s Managing Director, D Lakshminarayanan, expressed optimism for the financial year, noting, “The growth of small towns as economic centers is presenting numerous opportunities for us in both the prime home finance and emerging business segments. We believe that the demand in the real estate market remains strong, and we will continue investing in branch expansion and personnel this year.”

“As we strengthen our position in larger cities, we anticipate that our growth will be further propelled by our expansion efforts into Tier II and III towns, as well as enhancing our presence in smaller towns,” he added in a company statement on Tuesday.

The Emerging Business segment of the company recorded disbursements of Rs 229 crore for the financial year ending March 31, 2025. This segment, which includes small business loans and affordable housing finance, showed robust growth in FY2025 due to network expansion in Tamil Nadu.

“The Emerging Business segment has gotten off to a strong start, achieving over 60% growth in disbursements last year, thanks to our branch expansion in smaller towns in TN. This year, we will seek growth opportunities outside Tamil Nadu in this segment,” he noted.

He expressed confidence that the Emerging Business segment will experience rapid growth this year, backed by ongoing network expansion.
