PRAYAGRAJ: The Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) is gearing up to initiate a significant residential project—Aero City—located near Airport Road (Jhalwa) as part of the chief minister’s expansion plan.
This initiative will offer plots and flats in a single location, aimed at delivering modern, organized housing solutions within an integrated township.
Spanning over 90 acres, Aero City is set to commence in the next financial year when the PDA will begin acquiring land. The plots are expected to be priced under Rs 20 lakh, making them affordable for a diverse range of homebuyers. The authority plans to purchase farmland from local cultivators for an estimated Rs 3,300 crore and has submitted a proposal of approximately Rs 1,100 crore to the state government for approval. Once budget approval is obtained, the PDA intends to invest Rs 2,200 crore directly on land acquisition, which will be recouped through plot sales.
Aero City is envisioned as a self-sufficient urban area, providing residents convenient access to vital and recreational services. The township will feature dedicated spaces for shopping malls, hotels, restaurants, schools, hospitals, and other commercial facilities.
Purchasers of commercial plots will have the freedom to develop their spaces with minimal restrictions, and the PDA will offer procedural assistance to facilitate the process.
According to PDA Secretary Ajit Singh, the preparations are making consistent progress: “In alignment with the chief minister’s expansion plan, we are in the process of creating a land bank for the new residential scheme. Although some details are still being finalized, the concrete development of Aero City will begin in the next financial year.”
