HYDERABAD: The Telangana fire department has issued notices to a bar in Madhapur and a paying guest hostel in Kondapur for violating the Fire Services Act after inspections revealed inadequate firefighting equipment.
During the inspections of Sky100 Kitchen and Bar on the seventh floor of Excello Building in Madhapur, and Venkateshwara Coliving & PG Hostel at Marthanda Nagar in Kondapur, officials assessed the functionality of firefighting systems, emergency exits, and other fire safety protocols.
“The inspection team found that required equipment was missing, which raises concerns about readiness in case of a fire,” stated district fire officer-I, Rangareddy, Khaja Kareemulla. Representatives from both establishments were directed to implement immediate corrective actions to comply with fire safety standards.
Director General Vikram Singh Mann emphasized that the department is conducting ongoing inspections and awareness programs to enhance preparedness and mitigate fire hazards in both commercial and residential establishments.
