VIJAYAWADA: Revenue Minister Anagani Satya Prasad has defended the state government’s decision to establish Registration Seva Kendras (RSKs). He stated that this new technology-driven initiative aims to alleviate the difficulties faced by individuals at registration offices and to enhance transparency and citizen-friendliness in property registration services.
In a media address on Tuesday, the minister highlighted that RSKs are part of wider revenue reforms initiated by the state government, intended to benefit the public without causing any inconvenience. He dismissed opposition criticism as mere political propaganda aimed at gaining electoral advantage.
Anagani mentioned that the government has already consulted with document writers, who have expressed support for the proposed reforms. He urged them not to be swayed by the “political traps” set by certain factions hoping to protect their interests. “The Registration Seva Kendras are solely designed to simplify services for citizens, reducing delays and improving transparency for hassle-free document registration,” he asserted.
The minister emphasized that the initiative aims to modernize the registration process through technology, enhancing service delivery at registration offices across the state. He assured that no individual or professional group would suffer due to the new system, reinforcing that the reforms are crafted with public interest as a priority.
Launching a pointed critique of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), Anagani accused the opposition of misleading the public with baseless claims against the RSK initiative for political gain. He accused the YSRCP of attempting to impede every reform proposed by the state government.
The minister confirmed that the government would take action in cases with substantiated evidence. Investigations into alleged land encroachments involving former assembly speaker Thammineni Sitaram will proceed to their conclusion. Anagani also stated that the government would take action against those involved in illegal dealings concerning land owned by Goa Governor Ashok Gajapathi Raju. He assured that all land-related irregularities and illegal transactions from the past five years would be meticulously investigated, with appropriate legal actions taken against the responsible parties. The minister underscored the government’s dedication to ensuring transparency and accountability in revenue administration while safeguarding public and private property rights.
