Mysuru Body Approves New Layouts, Projects, and Digitization

MYSURU: The Mysuru Development Authority (MDA), previously known as MUDA, ratified several key decisions in its first meeting on Friday. Among them were the auctioning of corner and intermediate sites, the sanctioning of a free site for war martyr MV Pranjal, and plans to develop mobile apps for tracking MDA properties and digitizing records.

The meeting, chaired by DC G Lakshmikanth Reddy at the MDA office, covered around 400 subjects. Some were postponed due to missing documentation, a few were rejected, and many received approval.

MDA in-charge commissioner KR Rakshith informed TOI that a 60×40 site was allocated to Captain Pranjal, a 29-year-old who lost his life in a terrorist encounter in November 2023. The meeting also discussed site allocations for six other war martyrs.

The authority approved various layout projects covering 400 acres and plans to develop mobile applications to keep track of MDA properties and records, mimicking systems used by the revenue department.

Since its establishment in the early 1900s as the City Improvement Trust Board, the MDA has struggled with accurate property data, which has persisted through its evolution into the Mysore Urban Development Authority and finally the MDA in May 2025.

To streamline monitoring of court cases, a new mobile app will be created, ensuring that officials have instant access to information on disputed properties.

Rakshith mentioned that approvals were given for approximately 63 civic amenity sites, facilitated by various government agencies, to establish student hostels and infrastructure for CESC and KPTCL.

The meeting also reviewed proceedings from the MUDA general meeting held in November 2024 and ratified the auction of vacant corner and intermediate sites in various layouts to strengthen the authority’s financial base.

Further, MDA representatives agreed to provide sale deeds to house allottees under HUDCO and other categories upon the payment of remaining installments along with interest. They also decided to proceed with the distribution of land notifications and the disposal of various properties within its jurisdiction this year.
