Lucknow plans 300-acre logistics park, 15,000 Varun Vihar plots

LUCKNOW: The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is set to develop a 300-acre logistics park as part of the upcoming Varun Vihar scheme along the Agra expressway. This initiative will also include over 15,000 residential, commercial, and group housing plots, making it one of the state’s largest housing and infrastructure projects.

During a site inspection on Wednesday, LDA Vice-Chairman Prathamesh Kumar urged officials to expedite land acquisition. He engaged with engineers, project officials, and farmers at the site office in Dona village. Kumar stated, “Varun Vihar is designed to provide homes for countless families while also generating new employment and investment opportunities. We aim to meet international standards in development.”

Covering an area of 5,610 acres, the scheme will encompass land in various villages, including Bhalia, Adampur Indwara, Bahru, Jaliyamau, Madarpur, Ibrahimganj, Nakataura, Gehlwara, Tejkrishna Kheda, Revari, Sakra, and Dona in Sadar and Sarojininagar tehsils. The logistics park will be directly accessible from both the Agra expressway and Kisanpath.

Notably, the scheme will feature an inter-state bus terminal (ISBT) and plans for nearly 800 acres dedicated to green belts, parks, and water bodies. An international-level golf course and a central park are also slated for development.

Kumar emphasized, “This project will attract investments in education, healthcare, and industry. With the scope of Varun Vihar, we anticipate significant development. Our goal is to create a self-sustaining township.”
