GURUGRAM: The Haryana government has set June 30, 2026, as the deadline for landowners to join the ongoing e-Bhoomi initiative, through which land is acquired with owner consent for urban, commercial, and institutional development throughout the state.

HSVP (Haryana Shahari Awas Pradhikaran) is seeking to procure land to introduce new sectors. Notably, HSVP has not launched any new sectors in Gurgaon in the past 20 years. They have identified 1.7 lakh acres across 71 towns, marking it as one of the largest voluntary land procurement efforts in the state. The initial phase aims to acquire approximately 47,000 acres.

Land parcels are categorized according to specific town and project requirements, with potential zones for each district available on the e-Bhoomi portal. “This initiative aims to establish a transparent, digital, and timely process for land acquisition, ensuring direct payments to landowners while eliminating procedural delays,” stated a senior HSVP official.

HSVP has released town-wise estimates for land acquisition, details on acreage availability, and contact numbers for field officers to assist landowners. Officials encourage those interested in selling to complete consent and document submissions in advance of the June 30 deadline.

“The portal promotes complete transparency—from uploading land details to final approvals—and urges landowners to utilize the digital platform instead of relying on intermediaries,” the official added.

In Gurgaon, HSVP has pinpointed several high-growth corridors for future expansion. Key areas include the Southern Peripheral Road (sectors 76-80), Dwarka Expressway belt (sectors 99A-104), New Gurgaon along NH8 (sectors 82A-86), and the Pataudi-Farrukhnagar stretch (sectors 88A, 89A, 95A, 95B), collectively requiring about 24,000 acres for phased development.

Officials noted that this expansion is essential to accommodate rising housing needs, support upcoming infrastructure projects, and enhance long-term urban planning. For the past two decades, most real estate development in Gurgaon has been primarily driven by private developers, leading to soaring property prices that many residents find unaffordable.

In this first phase, around 17,358 acres across 51 sectors are projected for acquisition.

Through this land procurement plan for new residential and commercial sectors, HSVP aims to alleviate pressure on existing urban centers and ensure a continuous supply of serviced plots adhering to planned development standards across Haryana.

Previously, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini approved land procurement under the e-Bhoomi scheme in various urban estates that have published draft and final development plans.

HSVP has instructed its estate offices throughout the state to begin procurement. A phased schedule has been developed and sanctioned by the chief administrator of HSVP.
