GURUGRAM: The Gurugram police have apprehended two individuals, including a director of an infrastructure company, for allegedly scamming investors through fraudulent real estate projects linked to Dhirendra Shastri’s ‘Aparna Ashram’ in Silokhera village, according to police reports on Friday.

The Economic Offences Wing-2 (EOW) arrested Ashok Chaudhary (60) from Gautam Nagar, Delhi, and Chandrakant Chaudhary (40) from Brij Vihar, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, from Sector 62, Noida.

On April 15, a victim filed a complaint stating that the directors of CKC Infra Company, Ashok, Chandrakant, and their associates, misled him with fake documents and false promises.

They allegedly assured him of selling rights in exchange for investments in real estate projects at Aparna Ashram in Gurugram and at a site in Vaishali, Noida, as stated by the police.

The complainant reported multiple investments over time, yet no legitimate agreement was signed, no work commenced on the projects, nor were the selling rights granted as promised.

Eventually, the complainant discovered that the land concerning Aparna Ashram was under dispute and currently controlled by the Haryana government.

An FIR was lodged following the complaint.

Investigations indicated that the accused amassed about Rs 1 crore and approximately Rs 4.5 crore under the pretense of investment in a project in Vaishali (Noida).

Of this sum, about Rs 1 crore was deposited into CKC Infra Company’s bank account, which was subsequently distributed among the perpetrators.

“Investigations revealed that the accused intentionally fabricated agreements and forged governmental documents to deceive investors. They misled the complainant, fully aware that the land was embroiled in legal disputes, making any construction or sale illegal. They falsely promised that investing in the project would rapidly generate profits amounting to crores. We are currently interrogating the accused,” stated a spokesperson for the Gurugram police.
