GHAZIABAD: The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has commenced a satellite survey for the land designated for its Harnandipuram township. The first phase of construction is expected to start in five months, focusing on the development of 336 hectares, with 292 hectares being sourced from three villages: Mathurapur, Shamsher, and Nangla Feroze Mohan Nagar.
Out of the 292 hectares needed, 14 hectares will come from Mathurapur, 86 hectares from Shamsher, and 192 hectares from Nangla Feroze Mohan Nagar.
GDA Vice Chairperson Nand Kishore Kalal stated, “We have executed registries for 35 hectares and obtained consent from farmers for an additional 85 hectares. We will also incorporate LMC land into our land bank, which will be sufficient for launching the township’s first phase.”
GDA has established a link on its official website to facilitate communication between stakeholders regarding land acquisition issues, aiming to simplify the consent process for farmers.
Kalal added that the acquisition process is ongoing and will be conducted with the farmers’ mutual consent. He emphasized that there is considerable misinformation among farmers about the land acquisition, leading to understandable concerns. To address this, a dedicated link has been created on the GDA website for farmers to engage with the authority and clarify their doubts.
“If necessary, GDA officials will visit farmers to dispel any misunderstandings. The new online consent system will enhance convenience, allowing farmers to submit their consent without needing to visit the GDA office,” Kalal remarked.
This project falls under the CM Urban Expansion New City Promotion Scheme, with the state government allocating a budget of ₹400 crore for its development.
