GURUGRAM: During a two-phase enforcement initiative, 61 show-cause notices were issued to property owners in Sushant Lok-1 for conducting commercial activities such as clinics, gyms, skincare centers, eyewear shops, departmental stores, bookstores, toy stores, and offices within residential areas.
The initiative, executed by the District Town Planner Enforcement (DTPE) team with police backing, also led to the demolition or sealing of unauthorised constructions in Vyapar Kendra Market. One illegal floor and 21 offices were sealed for violating construction regulations and encroaching on shared spaces. Additionally, 17 unauthorised staircases and five encroachments were removed.
Businesses affected included Pooja Taxi, multiple units of Bansiwala, The Junket, Mrig Tour & Travels, Durga Associates, Latest Pro, Vans Associates (CA office), Hariti Electronics, GHS Techizo, Treya On, and Hydrolog Water Solution.
Officials emphasized that further action will be taken if the violations are not rectified, highlighting the importance of adhering to land use regulations.
The enforcement drive, led by DTPE Amit Madholia, followed previous warnings and restoration orders that were ignored last month.
Moreover, three mobile counters were removed from common areas, and two large illegal sheds established by vendors, identified as Mother Dairy and Safal at the colony’s entrance, were demolished. Officials stated that these sheds contributed to traffic congestion as vehicles were left parked on the road.
Residents’ complaints regarding unauthorised commercial activities and blocked common areas prompted this enforcement initiative, according to DTPE Amit Madholia, who indicated that similar actions will be taken in other licensed neighborhoods to ensure compliance with planning standards.
