NEW DELHI: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is set to unveil a premium housing scheme in 2025, featuring 177 residential flats across high, middle, and lower-income groups, as well as garages throughout the city.
The flats will be available via e-auction in locations such as Vasant Kunj, Dwarka, Rohini, Pitampura, and Jasola, among others.
“During a meeting chaired by Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, the DDA approved the Premium Housing Scheme for 2025,” a DDA official stated. The e-auction will also include 67 car or scooter garages.
The authority made two significant decisions: first, it has reduced amalgamation charges for commercial properties from 10% of the circle rate to 1%. “This adjustment aims to encourage real estate developers to enhance commercial areas, thus promoting investment and employment in the city. Many developers have migrated to NOIDA and Gurgaon due to lower charges,” the authority explained.
The second decision lowered the multiplication factor for auctioning commercial properties from twice the circle rate to 1.5 times. “These reforms align with the PM’s initiative to improve the ease of doing business,” the DDA added.
These decisions arose from recommendations by a high-level joint government-industry task force established by the LG. “Currently, prime commercial areas are underutilized, delaying infrastructure development and limiting urban mobility opportunities,” an official said.
In a relief measure for residents of Signature View Apartments, the DDA has approved monthly facilitation payments of ₹50,000 for HIG flats and ₹38,000 for MIG flats during reconstruction. “Rent will be issued on a unit basis as flats are vacated, with payments effective from January 2025 for those who vacated prior to the December 2024 Delhi High Court ruling, pending final court outcomes,” the proposal noted.
Occupants of Signature View have consistently sought rent assistance for relocation.
During Friday’s DDA meeting, it was also decided to rezone areas in Narela to develop an education hub in sectors G-7/G-8 and to construct a multi-sports stadium and complex in sectors G-3/G-4.
The authority will also offer discounts for bulk purchases of unsold flats in Narela by government departments and universities.
