NEW DELHI: The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) announced on Saturday a 10% rebate on property tax for the fiscal year 2026-27. This rebate is available to taxpayers who settle their dues by June 30.
The civic body encourages property owners in its jurisdiction to take advantage of this rebate by making timely payments through its online portal or through other approved payment methods.
The rebate initiative has been a consistent part of the NDMC’s property tax collection strategy in recent years, aimed at promoting early payments and enhancing revenue collection.
A similar 10% rebate was also offered last year for payments made prior to June 30.
This announcement comes as the NDMC is undergoing changes in its property tax framework.
Earlier this year, amendments were passed in Parliament to implement a uniform Unit Area Method for property tax assessments throughout the NDMC’s jurisdiction, replacing the rateable value-based system for remaining properties to ensure more consistency in tax evaluations.
The NDMC urges taxpayers to avoid the last-minute rush and to settle their dues well ahead of the deadline to benefit from the concession.
Taxpayers needing assistance can reach out to the NDMC Tax Department during office hours or visit the council’s website for more information.
