NEW DELHI: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is set to launch Phase II of the Jan Sadharan Awas Yojana on November 11, providing 1,537 affordable housing options for low-income groups (LIG) and economically weaker sections (EWS) across the city.
The available flats are located in several of Delhi’s developing residential areas, including Shivaji Marg (Moti Nagar), Ramgarh Colony near Jahangirpuri Metro Station, and Rohini Sectors 34 and 35 along the Urban Extension Road–II. There are also units in Narela, Sector G6–G7, Pocket 11, close to the intended Rithala–Narela–Kundli Metro corridor.
Starting at 12 PM on November 11, interested applicants can register on the DDA’s Awaas Portal at https://eservices.dda.org.in by paying a one-time registration fee of ₹2,500. Previous registrants for the scheme do not need to register again. Subsequent bookings require a payment of ₹1 lakh for LIG flats and ₹50,000 for EWS flats.
Officials have confirmed that the process will be conducted online, with allocations made on a first-come, first-served basis, similar to the successful Phase I launch.
Out of the 1,537 flats, 1,120 EWS units in Narela are priced around ₹11.9 lakh, with a 15% discount. In Rohini Sectors 34 and 35, there are 308 LIG flats at approximately ₹14.2 lakh, and another 73 LIG units in Ramgarh Colony available for up to ₹14.5 lakh, also with a 15% discount. Additionally, 36 EWS flats in Shivaji Marg, Moti Nagar, range between ₹25.2 lakh and ₹32.7 lakh, depending on size and location. Note that these prices do not include conversion and water connection fees.
Phase II is being launched due to the incredible response to Phase I, which saw 1,167 flats booked within hours of its opening on September 11. “Due to the overwhelming interest from buyers, the DDA has expedited the second phase to cater to the increasing demand for affordable housing among middle and lower-income families,” noted a senior DDA official.
