NEW DELHI: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has formulated a plan to auction residential plots in prime areas. Shifting focus from flatted development, the DDA has initiated steps to engage a specialized firm for demarcating 118 plots in D6 Vasant Kunj, located in south Delhi.
The DDA has issued a tender notice to select an experienced agency to carry out the demarcation, as well as to develop necessary infrastructure like roads, stormwater drains, and pipelines for water supply and sewerage. An official stated, “The goal is to prepare the site for e-auction.”
Additionally, the authority has identified areas for developing surface parking that will service the Ganga, Yamuna, Narmada, and Saraswati blocks of the Sector D6 Vasant Kunj Mega Housing project. These societies were established around 2010. “There is a demand for adequate parking. This will mitigate parking problems for residents of 1,904 flats while also catering to those interested in plotted development,” the official explained.
The DDA aims to complete all tasks within 365 days post-award of the project. “Planning and design, including review from relevant authorities, will take a maximum of three months, while actual execution is allocated nine months from the work allotment,” the official noted.
Tasks include planning and designing essential services such as drains, sewerage, water supply, and rainwater harvesting, all of which must be approved by the local civic body. “Plans for completion of these services will adhere to the directives of the engineer-in-charge,” the project outline indicated. Additional works include installing factory paver blocks in footpaths, parks, and lawns, ensuring proper drainage connections, and responsibly managing construction waste.
The tender notice states that the entire project, estimated at around Rs 7.5 crore, will follow the guidelines set by the Central Public Works Department while adhering to the norms established by the National Green Tribunal. The development proposals must prioritize minimal tree felling.
“All alternative proposals should be documented. No tree should be removed or relocated from the identified project areas without explicit permission from the forest department,” the notice stressed.
