RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced on Friday that the state’s Housing and Infrastructure Development Board has achieved a revenue of Rs 1,532 crore by selling 7,388 properties over the last two years, effectively overcoming financial obstacles and making a notable comeback.
While inaugurating the new logo of the Chhattisgarh Housing and Infrastructure Development Board (CGHIB) at the Circuit House in Nava Raipur, Sai stated that the board, previously limited to housing construction, will now significantly contribute to infrastructure development, invigorating the state’s progress.
The Chief Minister emphasized the government’s dedication to fulfilling every family’s aspiration for a permanent home.
Despite financial limitations, Sai highlighted that the board has accomplished substantial revenue generation of Rs 1,532 crore from the sale of around 7,388 properties.
He mentioned that the government acted promptly to deliver on its commitments after taking office, granting approval for 18 lakh houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in its initial cabinet meeting.
More than 10.50 lakh homes for underprivileged families have already been constructed in the state, with approximately 1,600 new houses being completed daily.
Additionally, Sai noted that the Central Government has approved 15,000 extra houses under PMAY for former Maoists’ rehabilitation, along with a specific housing scheme geared towards Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs).
Good governance remains a top priority for the administration, with over 450 government services now accessible via the ‘Seva Setu’ mobile app. The government has also established the Chief Minister’s Helpline 1076 to facilitate citizens in registering grievances and ensuring timely resolutions.
Housing and Environment Minister O P Choudhary revealed that the department has enacted extensive administrative reforms under Sai’s leadership, expanding the board’s role to include housing and infrastructure development.
The minister added that new housing projects will now only commence once sufficient bookings are secured to mitigate unnecessary construction and financial risks.
The government has also introduced a one-time settlement scheme aimed at accelerating the sales of long-standing properties, thereby strengthening the board’s financial standing for undertaking significant infrastructure ventures.
During the event, beneficiaries who participated in the 2025 Housing Fair were rewarded through a lucky draw with prizes including a car, scooter, refrigerator, washing machine, and LED television, as stated by officials.
Furthermore, Sai presented a cheque of Rs 2.5 lakh to Anshul Kashyap, the designer of the board’s new logo.
