BHOPAL: Over 250 individuals who purchased homes in various residential colonies of Bhopal gathered at the district collectorate auditorium on Thursday to express their concerns. District Collector Priyank Mishra organized a session to address civic issues faced by residents.

ADM Sumit Pandey led a team of officials to engage with the attendees, many of whom reported receiving homes without essential civil amenities such as roads, sewage lines, and in some instances, basic utilities like water and electricity. Numerous participants expressed feelings of betrayal, claiming the developers made numerous promises but have since redirected their efforts to new projects rather than completing existing ones adequately.

One group of buyers stated they booked plots back in 2009, with the developer assuring full development by 2011. However, many still have not received their plots, and those who have constructed homes continue to face civic challenges.

Pandey mentioned that a multi-departmental Colony Cell has been established to address residents’ complaints and ensure developers fulfill their commitments. An official from the district administration noted that 15 to 20 percent of the issues were resolved on-site, and follow-up on the remaining concerns will occur in a week.
