Lucknow: LDA to Increase Development Fees Near Expressways

LUCKNOW: The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is set to propose an increase in development charges for properties situated near corridors and expressways. During an upcoming meeting on Tuesday, the board will discuss hiring an agency for the Jayaprakash Narayan International Convention Centre and budget allocations for various housing projects, including the Anantnagar Housing Scheme and IT City.

The proposal to raise the special amenity fee for properties within 500 meters of Shaheed Path, Kisan Path, and the Green Corridor will also be reviewed. Funds generated from this fee will be allocated towards improving infrastructure and civic facilities in these regions.

Additionally, the board will consider approving an agency for the management of JPNIC and transferring authority to the LDA. Funds for housing schemes such as Anantnagar, IT City, and Kamdhenu Nagar will also be assessed. There is a proposal to convert under-construction flats in Kabir Nagar Devpur Para Awas Yojna into 1BHK and 2BHK units.

New group housing schemes in Aishbagh, Basant Kunj, Gomti Nagar (Viraj Khand), and Sector-4 of Gomti Nagar Extension are likely to receive approval. Proposed changes in land use for plots aimed at telephone exchanges, post offices, and substations will shift towards residential use.

Land acquisition discussions will include transferring 61 acres of Nehru Enclave land to the army, obtaining defense land from the Gomti river to Pipraghat for the Green Corridor dam, and taking over unused land from the UP Sainik School.

The LDA is also considering proposals to allocate land in Basant Kunj for an e-auto charging station by Lucknow City Transport. Plans for constructing a bus terminal in Charbagh on UPSRTC land through a public-private partnership (PPP) are also on the agenda.

Additional proposals include borrowing from financial institutions for land acquisition near IIM Road and the Agra Expressway, as well as funding for digitization, ERP systems, and computerized records.
