INDORE: The IT Park in Ujjain, currently being developed, is set to expand into phase two, which will accommodate more technology firms and startups.
Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) has designated a developer for the second phase, covering approximately 1.5 acres. “The plan for the second phase of the IT Park has been approved, and a developer is on board to advance the project. Our goal is to foster an ecosystem and enhance infrastructure for the IT and startup sectors. There is significant demand from tech companies for well-equipped spaces. Phase one has received a positive response, and we anticipate full occupancy for phase two as well,” stated MPIDC executive director in Ujjain, Rajesh Rathod. The estimated cost for phase two is around Rs 50 crore.
The first phase is expected to be completed by December 2026. Approximately 20 technology firms have expressed interest in the first phase, primarily from Indore, Ujjain, and Bhopal. This phase will include an incubation center, furnished office spaces, plug-and-play facilities, and a shared research center designed specifically for tech firms.
The IT Park is projected to create 500 direct jobs and over 1,000 indirect employment opportunities, thereby bolstering the local economy as companies establish their operations, according to MPIDC.
