HYDRAA Alerts Telangana HC on Realty Firm in Kukatpally

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) informed a vacation bench of the Telangana High Court on Thursday that it is not interfering with a 13.17-acre land in Kukatpally currently possessed by NVN Constructions Pvt Ltd.

HYDRAA claimed that the site was part of a waterbody and proceeded to demolish the compound wall, security guard rooms, cut electricity supply, and damage equipment on the premises. Subsequently, after the firm filed a contempt case, the High Court issued interim directives on May 29, instructing HYDRAA and other government bodies to restore the site to its original condition by rebuilding the demolished structures.

Justice Nagesh Bheemapaka stated that if the government agencies fail to initiate reconstruction, the petitioner may undertake the work and seek reimbursement from the agencies. The case is scheduled for further hearing on June 8.

During the hearing on Thursday, HYDRAA’s counsel assured the court in writing that they have complied with all orders and are no longer interfering with the property. The judge took serious note of this assurance, highlighting that the officials had executed demolitions in violation of previous High Court orders and against their own claim that the site was private property and not part of any waterbody.
