VISAKHAPATNAM: CREDAI Visakhapatnam has requested the stamps and registration department to implement a project ID-based framework under CARD 2.0 to enhance the registration process for gated communities and large residential projects.

The association submitted a representation to the deputy inspector general of the stamps and registration department, praising the CARD 2.0 initiative for reinforcing digital governance, transparency, and improved public service delivery.

However, they noted that the current check slip generation before registration consumes considerable time, particularly for large residential projects, often exceeding 90 minutes.

CREDAI pointed out that the repetitive entry of information for each unit, including ownership details, OTP verifications, and document uploads, leads to operational delays and unnecessary duplication.

E Ashok Kumar, president of CREDAI Visakhapatnam, stated that the proposed framework aims to simplify the registration workflow for large-scale developments and enhance system efficiency. “CARD 2.0 is pivotal for modernizing registration services. A centralized project ID system would minimize repetitive tasks and expedite registration processing,” he explained.

Under the proposal, each project would receive a unique project ID following the registration of the master project data, which could then be used for unit-wise registrations within the development.

The framework suggests permanent storage of landowner and GPA holder details for auto-population in future transactions, one-time OTP verifications for authorized signatories, centralized storage of verified documents, and automatic retrieval of project data to lessen manual entries.

Ashok Kumar expressed that the system is anticipated to significantly reduce check slip generation time, enhance data accuracy, and improve operational efficiency for applicants, developers, and departmental officials.

The association requested the department to consider including this proposal in future enhancements of CARD 2.0, emphasizing that it would lead to faster and more user-friendly registration services.
