GHAZIABAD: The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has initiated a residential plot scheme in Raj Nagar Extension and Noornagar as part of the Noornagar Housing Scheme. This project will make around 77 land parcels available for sale, varying in size from 60 to 221 sqm. The tendering process for the work is set to commence this week.

According to a GDA official, the scheme will cover an area of 17,872 sqm.

“We will begin external development in the area, allocating Rs 3.05 crore for road and sewer networks, along with an additional Rs 1 crore for electricity infrastructure and beautification efforts,” the official stated. “The area boasts improved connectivity via the Hindon Elevated Road, with plots of various sizes available to meet diverse housing needs across different income groups.”

In addition, progress has been made on the industrial cum logistics park project in Saidpur Hussainpur, Modinagar, being developed by the State Industrial Development Authority. It was approved by the GDA board in September this year.

Officials indicated that 250 hectares have been designated for the park, with 64 hectares being government land and 187 hectares of private land to be acquired through mutual agreement or the Land Acquisition Act. “We have already initiated the land acquisition process, and a nodal officer has been appointed to facilitate it,” the official added.

The land acquisition will be executed in two phases: 197 hectares in the first phase and 55 hectares in the second phase, with the process expected to begin within six months.

“This initiative to develop the industrial cum logistics park in Saidpur Hussainpur will align with the state government’s industrial policy. A survey by a private firm strongly recommended the park due to its excellent connectivity while being located outside city limits,” the official said.

The proposed park is situated 4 km from DME, which connects to EPE and NH 58, and 4 km from the Meerut South Central metro station. It is also 7 km from both the Partapur Bypass and Mohiddinpur railway station.

“The logistics hub forms a part of the Authority’s comprehensive traffic management strategy aimed at preventing heavy vehicles from entering city limits while facilitating the smooth transport of materials and goods to industrial clusters,” the official noted.

Previously, the UP government selected seven cities, including Ghaziabad, for the development of logistics hubs. The state will cover 50% of the land acquisition costs as seed capital for a duration of 20 years under its industrial policy.
