VISAKHAPATNAM: The VMRDA is set to develop approximately 25,000 plots for middle-income group layouts by 2026, as stated by Metropolitan Commissioner N Tej Bharath on Friday.
“This year, we aim to accomplish 10 major objectives. These include finalizing a master plan that meets citizen needs, completing significant road projects on time, promoting transit-oriented development, and addressing long-standing land disputes,” he said.
Further priorities involve laying the groundwork for essential projects within the next six to seven months, modernizing museums managed by VMRDA, building a semi-ring road from Bhogapuram to Rambilli, and identifying challenges in VMRDA’s constituencies,” added Tej Bharath. He believes these objectives are ambitious yet attainable. “Effective teamwork, ownership, and prompt decision-making across all levels will help us succeed. In addition to physical development, we will focus on institutional reforms and citizen engagement.
We are initiating the ‘Work with VMRDA’ program, allowing direct citizen interaction every Monday from 9:30 am to 10:30 am via 1800-425-1401 or 0891-2541401. Initiatives like VIBE (Vizag Integrated Buyers-Sellers Exchange), complete digitization, citizen and WhatsApp services, an integrated ticketing system, AI help desk and chatbot, improved plot sale processes, and enhanced media and social media communication will boost transparency, efficiency, and trust,” he explained.
