NEW DELHI: Cricketer Virat Kohli and his wife, actress Anushka Sharma, have made a significant real estate investment by purchasing 1.36 hectares of land in Alibag, near Mumbai, for ₹37.86 crore, as reported by CRE Matrix.
According to CRE Matrix, a real estate data analytics firm that analyzed the property registration details, the couple acquired two parcels of land totaling 21,010 square meters in Alibag, Raigad.
The registration was completed on January 13, 2026, with one plot measuring 14,740 square meters and the other 6,270 square meters.
The complete transaction was valued at ₹37.86 crore, which included approximately ₹2.27 crore in stamp duty. The seller of the property is identified as Sonali Amit Rajput, with Samira Land Assets acting as the confirming party.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a noticeable increase in real estate purchases by celebrities, athletes, high-profile corporations, and ultra-high-net-worth individuals in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).
