AGRA: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the Atal Puram Township project on Tuesday, which is being presented as the Agra Development Authority’s largest housing initiative in 36 years, according to officials.
The project, covering an area of 340 acres, is strategically located at the confluence of the Agra Inner Ring Road, Southern Bypass, and Gwalior Road.
The Atal Puram will be developed in three stages across 11 sectors, providing housing for nearly 10,000 families. The plan encompasses 1,430 residential plots, 18 group housing plots, and 96 commercial plots.
Incorporating world-class infrastructure, the township will feature underground utility ducts, sewerage systems, and a water treatment plant.
Additionally, crucial public facilities such as a police post, fire station, and a cutting-edge convention center will be established.
A significant aspect of the project is that the Agra Development Authority acquired the land directly from farmers through mutual agreements, compensating them at four times the prevailing circle rate. The total cost for land acquisition was Rs 784 crore, with an additional Rs 731 crore earmarked for development.
This land acquisition model highlights the government’s dedication to farmer welfare and marks a new era in Agra’s urban transformation, aligning with the vision of planned urban growth and modern infrastructure.
