HYDERABAD: With the real estate market in and around the city gaining momentum, the state government has put Rajiv Swagruha Corporation flats in Bandlaguda, Pocharam, and Gajularamaram townships up for sale, with expectations of raising over ₹1,000 crore.
A total of 159 flats in Sahabhavana township (Bandlaguda), 601 in Sadbhavana township (Pocharam), and 418 flats in 9- to 14-storey towers—located in the Medchal-Malkajgiri district—are now available for purchase.
Interested buyers must submit applications, and allotments will be decided by a draw scheduled for July 30, August 1, 2, and 20, if there are multiple bids for each property.
These flats and towers, constructed 15 years ago, remained unsold until now. The sizes range from 520 sq ft to over 1,600 sq ft, with prices starting from ₹2,500 to ₹4,000 per sq ft.
The constructions were intended to offer affordable housing for the middle class in urban areas and outskirts under the Rajiv Swagruha scheme. However, hundreds of flats and thousands of plots remained unsold across the last six auction phases since the scheme’s inception in 2007.
The Housing Board has already raised ₹142.78 crore from the sale of 18 open plots in Phase-7 of Kukatpally Housing Board Colony, with a record plot fetching ₹2.98 lakh per sq yd. An additional ₹65.02 crore was earned through the auction of open plots and flats in Gachibowli, Chintal, and Nizampet, leading to a new auction notification for its commercial plots at KPHB and Nampally.
V OP Gautham, Vice-Chairman of Telangana Housing Board, stated that all sales will be conducted via a transparent e-auction process to ensure fairness for all bidders. The final e-auction is set for July 30.
