Telangana to Launch Phase Two of Indiramma Housing in April

HYDERABAD: Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced in the council on Wednesday that the second phase of the Indiramma housing initiative is set to launch in April and May across the state.

In response to questions, the minister stated that the Indiramma housing program will continue annually to ensure housing for the underprivileged.

The objective is to construct Indiramma houses in every urban ward within the next three years. Approximately 100,000 houses are expected to be completed by March, and most of the 300,000 houses sanctioned in the first phase will be ready by June or July. Special efforts are being made to provide urban housing, ensuring that beneficiaries receive homes near their current locations to maintain their livelihoods,” said the minister.

He also mentioned that the government is drafting a plan to complete pending and stalled housing projects, especially in tribal and remote areas, with provisions to modify houses according to the needs of beneficiaries. “There will be no discrimination in the selection of beneficiaries, and strict action will be taken against any irregularities,” he stated.

Nearly 99% of outstanding bills for the 2-BHK units have been settled, and a special 99-day initiative is underway to finish incomplete houses and distribute them to eligible families,” he added.

The minister also revealed that a new digital media policy will be introduced within the next two to three months.
