HYDERABAD: The Telangana Housing Board has introduced one-bedroom flats aimed at the Lower Income Group (LIG) in Gachibowli and several other locations. According to V P Gautam, the board’s vice-chairman, a total of 339 flats are available in Hyderabad, Khammam, and Warangal at competitive market prices.
These flats are situated in gated communities where many families reside, specifically allocated for the LIG category to ensure access to quality housing. Positioned in well-developed and sought-after areas, the flats are offered at prices that are substantially lower than those in the open market.
Officials highlighted that the flats are designated for individuals with an annual income of up to Rs 6 lakh (approximately Rs 50,000 per month). Gautam noted that there are 111 flats available in Gachibowli, 102 near Warangal railway station, and 126 at Sriram Hills in Khammam. Interested applicants will be selected through a transparent lottery system.
The flats range from 450 to 650 square feet, with prices in Gachibowli between Rs 26 lakh and Rs 36.20 lakh. In Warangal, prices range from Rs 19 lakh to Rs 21.5 lakh, while in Khammam, they start at Rs 11.25 lakh. Prospective buyers can apply either online or at designated service centers. The lottery for Gachibowli flats is set for January 6, Warangal on January 8, and Khammam on January 10. Additional details are available on the Housing Board’s website.
