HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will officiate the key handover ceremony for Indiramma houses on August 21 (Thursday) at Bendalampadu village in Chandrugonda mandal, Bhadradri Kothagudem district.
Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy hailed the event as historic, indicating that the CM will not only hand over keys but also perform the housewarming rituals for 27 houses in the village. Out of the 312 houses sanctioned in Bendalampadu, 72 have already been completed.
Ponguleti conducted a review meeting on Monday concerning the preparations for the housewarming ceremonies, attended by CM Revanth. He alleged that the previous BRS government denied homes to underprivileged families for a decade.
The current Congress government plans to sanction 4.5 lakh Indiramma houses in the initial phase, expecting an expenditure of ₹22,500 crores by 2028, with nearly 2.5 lakh houses currently under various stages of construction. The Indiramma housing scheme commenced in the presence of Lord Sri Rama at Bhadrachalam, with the upcoming housewarmings once again celebrating Bhadradri soil.
