HYDERABAD: On Monday, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy urged Housing and Urban Development Corporation (Hudco) Chairman Sanjay Kulshrestha to provide loans at reduced interest rates for critical developmental projects in Telangana, including the proposed Bharat Future City on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
Kulshrestha met the CM at his residence and was asked to assist with funding for projects like the expansion of the Hyderabad Metro Rail, Future City, the Indiramma housing program, Regional Ring Road, and radial road networks.
Revanth also informed the Hudco chairman about upcoming greenfield road projects that will connect Future City to Chennai via Bengaluru and Amaravati, as well as a proposed greenfield highway to Machilipatnam port and a bullet train corridor. He raised concerns regarding loan restructuring and the heavy interest burden from loans taken by the previous BRS government.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, Kulshrestha expressed a willingness to reconsider the high-interest loans. He also confirmed that Hudco had already approved loans for the Indiramma scheme aimed at assisting the underprivileged and agreed to expedite funds for an additional 1 million houses.
Revanth invited Kulshrestha to the Telangana Rising Global Summit, set to take place at Future City on December 8-9.
