Maharashtra Tightens SRA Norms to Secure Rehab Dues on Flats

The Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA), the Maharashtra government’s key agency for slum redevelopment, has tightened regulations on free-sale inventory in slum rehabilitation projects. It now requires the preemptive freezing of designated sale flats to ensure transit rent payments and the fulfillment of permanent alternate accommodation (PAP) obligations for eligible slum inhabitants. MUMBAI: The Bombay High Court has prohibited the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) and BMC from responding to complaints and interference from BJP MLA Parag Alavani and a competing developer regarding a slum rehabilitation project in Vile Parle (E), as reported by Rosy Sequeira.
