Pune civic body bags ₹713 crore from extended property tax amnesty

PUNE: Civic Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram announced on Monday that the property tax amnesty scheme has been extended until February 16. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) reported collecting around ₹713 crore from tax defaulters during the initial two months of the scheme, which originally concluded on January 15. “The response to the scheme was positive. Pune: 1.3 Lakh Property Owners Excluded from Tax Amnesty

PUNE: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced a ban on 1.38 lakh property owners who are repeat defaulters from participating in the property tax amnesty scheme. This decision follows concerns raised by citizens’ groups regarding some property owners who continuously default on their taxes while exploiting the amnesty benefits. The current scheme grants a 75% discount on penalties for unpaid property taxes. “Actions are underway to ensure that only legitimate beneficiaries obtain benefits from the schemes. Delhi civic body holds 1,800+ tax camps for amnesty scheme

NEW DELHI: The MCD has launched 1,862 property tax camps across its 12 zones to help property owners file their taxes and take advantage of the Property Tax Amnesty Scheme introduced in May. As per MCD officials, over 48,546 taxpayers have benefited from these camps so far. The civic authority plans to conduct more camps in the coming days to further extend the advantages of the Property Tax Amnesty Scheme for 2025-26 and the Sumpattikar Niptaan Yojana (SUNIYO).
