Indiramma housing scheme to cover 20 lakh families: Telangana housing minister

HYDERABAD: Housing minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Friday announced that three more phases of the Indiramma housing scheme will be rolled out to benefit 20 lakh poor families over the next three-and-a-half years. Speaking at a programme in Peddapalli district, he said that in the first phase, 4.5 lakh houses have already been sanctioned, with 3,500 units allocated per assembly constituency. Additionally, 10,000 Chenchu families and beneficiaries in ITDA areas have been granted homes over and above the standard quota. Free sand to beneficiaries to build Indiramma homes: Telangana housing minister

Representative Image HYDERABAD: The Congress govt will supply sand free of cost for construction of Indiramma houses to the scheme beneficiaries, revenue and housing minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced at a programme in Mulugu district where he distributed approval letters of Indiramma houses. Ponguleti directed all the collectors to ensure that sand stockpiles are kept ready and supplied free of cost to beneficiaries. Telangana government proposes to expand metro rail in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has decided to expand Metro Rail network here by over 86 kms. Briefing reporters on Thursday night after the state cabinet meeting, Information and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said it was decided to propose to the Centre to take up the metro rail expansion at a cost of Rs 19,579 crore in partnership with the state.
