Uttar Pradesh extends housing scheme to all scheduled tribes
LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh government has broadened the scope of the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana-Gramin to encompass all remaining Scheduled Tribes (STs), with the goal of achieving universal housing coverage for tribal communities in the state. This decision follows a proposal from the Rural Development Department as the earlier targeted groups under the scheme neared saturation. Initially, the scheme included select communities such as Musahar and Vantangia, covering 18 castes and tribes from 2020-21 to 2025-26.
