Nagpur: Mhada Alleges ₹1.39 Crore Fraud by Private Firm Director
NAGPUR: The Sitabuldi police have initiated a cheating case against Bhupendra Chandrikapure, the director of a private firm engaged by the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (Mhada) in October 2022 for selling unsold flats built under its schemes. The complaint, lodged by the deputy chief officer of the Nagpur Housing and Area Development Board, claims that Chandrikapure had no authorization to directly collect money from buyers. Nonetheless, between October 2022 and July 2025, he allegedly gathered significant sums from 44 beneficiaries by promising flats and home loans and charging additional fees for electricity connections and other amenities.
