HC directs Meghalaya to acquire airport land in four months
GUWAHATI: The Meghalaya High Court has instructed the Ri-Bhoi Deputy Commissioner (DC) and the Transport Department to complete the acquisition of 11.75 acres of private land for Shillong airport’s expansion by January 10. This land is to be handed over to the Airports Authority of India (AAI). The directive was issued by Chief Justice Soumen Sen and Justice W Diengdoh, highlighting the urgency and delays in securing the necessary land.
