Kanpur to Implement Uniform Mutation Fee Starting March 1
KANPUR: The Kanpur Municipal Corporation (KMC) working committee has approved a new mutation fee. Starting March 1, citizens will only need to pay Rs 6,500 for mutation. This decision comes after a 63-day deliberation process, culminating in the committee’s approval, which favors the public. Previously, KMC regulations required citizens to pay 1% of the property’s total value based on the DM’s circle rate. During a meeting on December 26, 2025, KMC officials discussed the proposal, allowing citizens to voice any objections within a 45-day window.
