Karur collector to file plan on illegal sand mining: State to Madras HC
MADURAI: The state on Thursday informed the Madras high court that the Karur district collector would file a detailed action plan to prevent illegal mining activities in the Amaravathi riverbed in Karur district. The court was hearing suo motu proceedings initiated to prevent illegal sand mining in the Amaravathi riverbed, following a petition filed by the registrar (judicial) of the Madurai bench.
